Nordin Engineering began in the mid 1990’s when John was asked to consult and implement PLC’s in some Rock Quarries in Ohio, automating existing processes.
Nordin Electric began in 2008 as an Electrical Contracting, self proprietorship, after John retired from the mining industry. Nordin Engineering was renamed Nordin Engineering Services LLC, establishing a separate company in 2012.
John’s career has included residential and light commercial electrical installation and service, Plant Manager, electrical engineer, instrumentation engineer and instructor at both the High School and Tech school levels.
John holds a Master Electrician License, a Contractors License, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a B.S. in Industrial Technology from the University of Wisconsin, Stout, and a Professional Engineer License which was first issued in 1984 by the State of Wyoming and subsequently by the State of Michigan, as well as various certificates received over John’s 39 years of electrical experience. This includes Generac’s generator installation, Certificate for removing lead based materials, and various NEC code class updates.
John works from an office in his home where he lives with his wife Ellen. Their 40 + years of marriage has included workplaces in Virginia, Minnesota, Kudremukh India, Lander Wyoming, and since 1983, Rogers City Michigan.
